About George Shakro, Esq.

As an Associate Attorney at Gordon Law, George Shakro helps clients with tax resolution and provides legal analysis for cryptocurrency tax clients.

Working in the Tax Controversy Department, George has helped clients resolve tax debt, tax audits (including income tax, sales tax, and crypto tax audits), tax identity theft, and more. He enjoys being able to relieve his clients’ stress through efficient and effective tax resolution.

George also enjoys advising the Cryptocurrency Department on how to treat complex activity, including DeFi loans, liquidity pools, margin trading, Bitcoin ordinals, and tokenized bonds.

George earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola University, where he was the associate editor of the Loyola International Law Review and served as a brief writer on the John H. Jackson Moot Court team. He also earned a Master of Laws degree in Taxation from Northwestern University-Pritzker School of Law.

During law school, George worked in Loyola University’s income tax clinic, where he helped underprivileged individuals and families combat IRS issues, and served an intern for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in the Enforcement Division.

When he is not in the office, George enjoys cooking new dishes and rooting for all Chicago sports teams.
